AIA Ohio Recognition of Newly Registered Architects

AIA Ohio wants to recognize Ohio’s newly registered architects!  All those who have earned licensure since Jan. 1, 2016, will be invited to come and be recognized.  AIA Ohio members and leadership are welcome to join in the celebration. The event will include design speakers Marc Manack, AIA and Frank Jacobus, AIA, from Silo AR+D. We will have a recognition ceremony and a reception to celebrate Ohio’s newest architects!

Designers Marc Manack, AIA, and Frank Jacobus from Silo AR+D, will discuss their work in the context of innovative project delivery strategies for small projects as well as their use of contemporary technologies and experimental research techniques which can be adapted to projects of all sizes.  They will showcase exemplar small project delivery case studies of their work, offering lessons that can be utilized in any firm, regardless of size. 

Marc Manack, AIA

Marc Manack, AIA is Principal of SILO AR+D and the Assistant Professor of Building Design at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Marc has taught previously at the at the Fay Jones School of Architecture at the University of Arkansas, Kent State University College of Architecture and Environmental Design, and at Ohio State University’s Austin E. Knowlton School of Architecture from where he is also a graduate.

Frank Jacobus, RA

Frank Jacobus, AIA is Principal of SILO AR+D and the Associate Professor and 21st Century Chair of Building Technologies in the Fay Jones School of Architecture at the University of Arkansas. Frank taught previously at the University of Idaho. He has a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the Cooper Union and a Master​ of Architecture from the University of Texas. While in Austin he was invited to exhibit at the Venice Biennale for a project titled “Resilient Foundations: The Gulf Coast after Katrina.” Frank is author of Archigraphic: An Infographic Look at Architecture (Laurence King), and the The Visual Biography of Color (ORO).
